Dynamically Encircling an Exceptional Point in a Real Quantum System

چکیده
The exceptional point, known as the non-Hermitian degeneracy, has special topological structure, leading to various counterintuitive phenomena and novel applications, which are refreshing our cognition of quantum physics. One particularly intriguing behavior is mode switch phenomenon induced by dynamically encircling an point in parameter space. While these switches have been explored classical systems, experimental investigation regime remains elusive due difficulty constructing time-dependent Hamiltonians a real system. Here we experimentally demonstrate with single nitrogen-vacancy center diamond. realized utilizing dilation method. Both asymmetric symmetric observed.
